Preparing the deposit
Bulldozers and excavators strip the overburden, move waste rock and prepare the areas to be mined to open access to the phosphate.
Phosphate project · Mauritania
SMSP Mining deploys excavators, bulldozers and trucks to extract phosphate and deliver it to the processing plant, ensuring a steady, safe and controlled supply.
Our mission
SMSP Mining is dedicated to the mining operations of the SMSP SA phosphate project. We organise stripping works, extraction and loading of the ore, then its haulage to the processing plant.
Each stage prepares the next. Coordination of crews and equipment determines the regularity of supply: planning, haul-road upkeep, maintenance and cycle monitoring support fleet availability and cost control.
Expertise
An operating organisation focused on mechanised phosphate extraction and its haulage to processing.

Bulldozers and excavators strip the overburden, move waste rock and prepare the areas to be mined to open access to the phosphate.

Excavators dig the ore at the mine face. Works are organised to separate waste from phosphate and limit product dilution.

Excavators load the dump trucks. Coordination between machines and drivers cuts waiting time and keeps cycles regular.
Trucks carry raw phosphate to the plant’s reception point, with cycle monitoring and coordinated unloading.
Preventive maintenance of excavators, bulldozers and trucks, pre-shift inspections and haul-road upkeep to sustain continuous operations.
Work planning, volumes excavated, tonnes delivered, cycle times, equipment availability and fuel consumption structure how operations are managed.
Operations chain
Performance relies on continuity between ground preparation, extraction, truck loading and delivery to the processing plant.
Remove overburden and organise waste rock to make the deposit accessible.
Excavate phosphate at the mine face while controlling the separation of ore from cover material.
Coordinate excavators and dump trucks to secure loading and reduce waiting times.
Transport the ore to the plant and synchronise unloading with reception needs.
Responsibility & sustainable mining
Our ambition: mining where crew safety, local skills development and control of impacts accompany every tonne extracted.
Pre-start checks, organised traffic, defined work zones, protective equipment and vigilance during loading and manoeuvres.
Promoting local employment, training of equipment operators, drivers and technicians, and the development of Mauritanian suppliers.
Waste rock management, dust control, leak prevention, used-oil handling and progressive rehabilitation in line with the project plan.
